Welcome to the Jenkintown Home & School Association

The Jenkintown Home & School Association (HSA) is an integral part of the School District of Jenkintown. The HSA is comprised of all of the district’s families. We support and organize programs, activities, and events for the benefit of our students and seek to support our teachers. Some of these activities require funds, which we raise through various programs throughout the year, while others require time and energy for our families. We hope to meet you along the way and grow our school community together!

HSA meetings are open to all parents, and we encourage you to attend. It’s a great way to meet other parents and find out what’s going on in the district. Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of every other month from 7:00-8:00 pm. This year’s scheduled meetings are: 10/2, 11/6, 12/4, 1/8, 2/5, 3/5, 4/2, and 5/7.

Collections

HSA always seeks ways to raise funds without asking too much of our parents. You can help to raise funds for our students without spending any additional money by saving and submitting the following items. This makes a huge difference in our budget!

Box Tops  —Clip the Box Tops symbol from products and return it to the box in the Link building. We receive 10¢ for each.

Ink Cartridges: Please bring in your empty cartridges to be recycled and earn money for HSA. The collection bin is in the link.

Oral Care and Beauty Care Products – Please send your empty containers and deposit them in the bin in the link.

Crayola Color Cycle – Please send in your dried-out markers, highlighters, and dry-erase markers to be recycled. They can be put in the bin in the link.

Announcements:

If you have information that you would like all parents notified of via email, send it to the appropriate school principal, Mr. Tom Roller—rollert@jenkintown.org, Dr. Jahnke—jahnkec@jtowndrakes.org). If approved, your item can be included in the weekly email each principal sends.

Calendar Requests

If you would like a school item added to the school calendar, go to the website for the appropriate school and click the item “Calendar Request.” Complete the form with information about your event and click submit. Your request will be reviewed and, when approved, added to the calendar. Any questions about calendar events may be directed to Allison Defazio at defazioa@jenkintown.org in the MS/HS or Elise Mulvaney at mulvaneye@jenkintown.org in the ES.

Purpose: Jenkintown HSA strives to enhance students’ education experiences, both in and out of the classroom.

Who can apply: Teachers, Guidance Staff, Principals, Student Group Advisors

Action Steps: 1) Fill out this form  2) It will be submitted to the principal for approval 3) Then, if approved by Dr. Jahnke or Mr. Roller, it will go to HSA board review 4) If approved, you will be contact to arrange funding details. *We will let you know either way*
