Dear Jenkintown Families,
Because of the winter storm moving through our area, and in coordination with Jenkintown Borough’s snow emergency, Jenkintown School District will be closed on Monday, February 23rd.

We will hold a Flexible Instruction Day for students tomorrow, and teachers will share any needed information through Google Classroom or email. For more information about the Flexible Instruction Day, please visit our website.

Attendance:
We know storms can create challenges for everyone. If your home loses power and your child can’t access their classes, please just send a quick email to the teacher and either Mrs. Mulvaney or Mrs. DeFazio once everything is back up and running so we can update our Attendance:

Elementary: Mrs. Elise Mulvaney at mulvaneye@jtowndrakes.org
Middle/High School: Mrs. Allison DeFazio at defazioa@jtowndrakes.org

We also recognize that teachers may be dealing with the same weather-related issues, so thank you for everyone’s patience as we all work through the storm together.

Board Meeting:
As the storm develops, we will be evaluating our options for the scheduled Board meeting at 7:00 pm Monday evening, including whether it will be held in-person, virtually over Zoom, or rescheduled. We’ll send a separate update tomorrow with more information.

Additional Notes:
All district activities, athletics, and events planned for Monday are canceled.
Only essential personnel should be in district buildings.

We will continue to monitor conditions closely and keep families updated.

Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and the way our community comes together during weather like this. Stay safe Jenkintown!

Sincerely,
Steve
